Ms. Acosta has 35 years’ experience in Business Economic Development with specialization in Financing, Accounting & Commercial Lending. Her public career includes Commercial Lending as an Underwriter and Bank Branch Manager; as a CFO for a chain of restaurants, she was instrumental in the growth and development of a fast-food Company, from 9 restaurant sites to 24, with 400 employees. Maria’s 26 years in the U.S. Federal Government includes; U.S. Department of the Treasury, (ATF) – Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, S.F, Regional Administrator; U.S. Small Business Administration, L.A. District Deputy and District Director; U.S. Department of Commerce, L.A. Area Director.

Sergio Gascon has more than 25 years of professional experience that includes certified public firm accounting, international taxation, entrepreneurship, and teaching leadership. Throughout his professional career, he demonstrated success leading innovative partnerships that enabled small businesses to develop, grow and expand domestically and abroad.
Mr. Gascon guided successful execution of strategic plans for international academies and corporate partners on a global scale by managing external affairs and facilitating open lines of communication. He increased performances of research scholars visiting from various countries by gauging their English skills and providing executive language coaching to enhance levels of interpretation and clarity of dialogue.
As the former Executive Director at the University of Southern California, he led the university’s economic development small business growth programs. A key program he directed was the Minority Business Development Center, a bureau within the United States Department of Commerce, which was administered in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and Policy, City of Los Angeles. Mr. Gascon supervised the delivery of management consulting services and business education to companies owned and operated by minorities with millions of dollars in annual sales. The small businesses located nationwide were enabled to strategically grow and create thousands of jobs in their local communities. Gascon earned a Master of Leadership from USC Price School of Public Policy, and he was recognized by Hispanic Magazine as one of the top 100 Hispanic entrepreneurs in the US.
